This moves currencies tremendously, and puts Europe in a tight spot. The battle is RBL vs USD. Ruble just rebound from a low because of this policy, as seen on the below graph. This policy change by Russia is what’s behind USA’s pledge of 15bn cubic meters of liquid natural gas (LNG) to Europe.
