I've met this man in dark glasses on the street a couple of times with a huge cat on a leash. But somehow it didn't occur to me to approach. It didn't come until, as they say, we run into each other. And when I came across him, I saw that he was blind, and he was walking with a stick for the blind. It wasn't St Bernard or any other dog. And he was led by a cat of incredible size. No, the cat wasn't a maker. Just a yard breed, from a combination of circumstances, obtained the size of half a dog. Opening my mouth, I followed them like a strapper. And walking a couple of meters behind, he witnessed how the cat, coming to the crossing and stopping, barked demandingly. His man dutifully stopped, and the cat, after waiting for all the cars to pass, again emitted a special pulp, after which they went. "No, but it is absolutely impossible," I explained to myself and followed them, becoming more and more convinced that the impossible sometimes comes true. A hundred meters later, the man stopped and turned to me and said, "You've been following me for a long time, maybe we can sit down and talk." I was embarrassed and, apologizing for my persistence, sat down next to him and he told me the story.

Many years ago, he was in an accident and was hit in the head. It seems like nothing, but my eyesight began to fall very quickly. Family members took him to the doctor, and after the examination he reported a disappointing diagnosis. Before he was completely blind, they began to lead guide dogs to him. But no dog stayed at home for more than three days. And it's not that a cat that had lived with him for three years was attacking them. No, he was just throwing tantrums, that is, yelling so that the unfortunate dogs would eventually get under the bed and refuse to get out. That's how they changed until the coach and family gave an ultimatum. Seeing that the situation was bad, the man put the cat next to him and explained that it would not work, and if he thought that he could drive his own man on the streets and they did not need a dog, he would have to prove it, otherwise he would go to his sister, because there was no other way out. The man in the glasses smiled and, silent, continued. “I put a leash on Dua, having treated it considerably, and we went outside. As I approached each obstacle, road, shop, I explained in detail what was required of the cat. Everyone laughed at me, and I didn’t believe it myself. But a week later, Dua absolutely repeated everything I explained to him. Moreover, entering the bus, he screams demandingly, and people jump up, amazed by such a picture. We became a local landmark. One thing I can't change...

The man smiled and stroked his cat as he climbed onto the bench and sat next to him: He always goes to the same store and waits for his hundred grams of Krakow sausage. At first they sold it to me, but then, when the seller and the owner realized what was going on, they began to take out the sausage on a plate and put it in front of my handsome man. And he leaned over and smacked the cat in the top. Then he got up and invited me to come with him to his house, promising another surprise. After getting up in the elevator and making sure that the cat can definitely let him down and inform his man about any obstacle, I was in full thought before the door of his apartment. And when he opened it, I froze on the doorstep. On that side sat an absolute copy of Dua. "This is his son," the man explained.

You may not believe me, but he's teaching him to take care of me.

And when he said, "Follow me," he came out with two cats. The cat’s son was walking right next to his daddy and staring at him. He repeated absolutely everything Dua did, and even made the same sounds. As I said goodbye to a man in dark glasses, I was hesitant to ask one tough question. He felt it and said, Don’t worry, my family is big and good. And if anything happens to me, they're going to take these two handsome guys.

And he leaned down and stroked two huge cats, a father and a son, snuggled at his feet.

“We are one family, me and my cats,” he explained.

They became the closest creatures in the world to me. They are not only my eyes, but also my second self.
And then I reached out to him to say good-bye, and suddenly I realized that I had made an embarrassment. "Oh, fool!" I thought, "he can't see my hand," and blushing, he began to remove it. But then Dua suddenly made a rattling sound, and the blind man, stretched out his hand, found mine and, shaking it firmly, turned and went about his business. There was a cat in front. And people broke up and looked at the couple. Because the guide cat, I'll tell you, is incredible.
