To me, this seems like the oil shorts are getting squeezed pretty hard. There is probably a lot of money sloshing around there, a lot of money changing hands right now, precisely because of this volatility spike.
Will the war be over as soon as the shorts are bled out and thoroughly destroyed? For the record, the shorts are Western (UK and USA), not Iranian in any way. Anyway, all the betting is done on paper with future contracts or some such.
