When taking an action for whatever reason, make it look like the reason is, to benefit the other party. Especially if it benefits you and not them.

Example: interviewers say: "in order to save you time, please tell me what you are looking for." obviously, it saves them time, not you.

Do attempt to get as much info from them as possible, while providing as little info as possible.

You can answer a question with a question, to facilitate that.

Place yourself in the position of authority first. Example: cancel or reschedule the first meeting. Especially if you feel that communicating with them will not be valuable to you. 

Insist on a clear agenda in writing. There is no scheduling a call to "get to know you." Or, charge them money for such a meeting.

Take more of their time by spending less of yours, by sending them automated reminders about meetings.
